Mind over Meds

Updated: Apr 22, 2020

There's so much we can learn and explore when it comes to our Mind.

Dr Andrew Weil, MD has this beautiful book and herbal medicine approach that I recommend absolutely everyone to give it a chance.

There's so much we can discover in natural and traditional remedies and practices. My favorites are adding and playing around with herbs and spices such as cumin, cayenne pepper, turmeric, dandelion, cinnamon, nutmeg, rosemary, thyme and juniper.

I use them in my cooking and as natural creams and oils - blends also - to help my system and encourage natural recovery.

I have also experiences the benefits of acupuncture, chinese treatments, naturopathy, yoga and stretching and meditation.

Our bodies are our temple, and each one of us deeply knows which things work for us or not.

What may work for me, might not work for you - so the path to exploring natural remedies and options is one I encourage you to begin with an open mind and heart.

Whenever you try something, really give it a go. Give your body, mind and soul time to get ready, understand this "new" therapy or ingredient that you are adding in, journal if you can any changes on the way and after a considerable time (For me is at least 6 weeks) make a conclusion about how you are feeling now and if there's considerable progress going on - If so, keep it up!

You may find it helpful to have someone - a friend, coach or relative - to hold you accountable when introducing new healthy habits into your routine. If you are your own accountability coach try having a schedule and stick to it, and use reminders, post it notes, alarms and calendars to remind yourself of this choice and new lifestyle you are creating.

I hope this post encourages you to start a new natural or traditional remedy, therapy or ingredient this week. If so, which one would you choose? Please share with me or let me know, and for a private consultation email me to hello@solpinedawellness.com

There's nothing to rush about, just start today, baby steps - one day at a time

With Love and in health,

xxx
